ABOUT US

Ideally located in the heart of Boston’s waterfront, the John Joseph Moakley United States Courthouse is home to our Federal Courts as well as a major community building.

Art and cultural exhibitions, visiting tall ships, spectacular event spaces, educational tours, public gardens and much more can be found at the site of this architectural masterpiece. The Courthouse is in the middle of the bustling Seaport District surrounded by hotels, restaurants, and shopping, and in walking distance to Boston’s Financial District.

Home to the United States District Courts, Court of Appeals, Circuit Executive’s Office and the US Attorney’s office, the Moakley Courthouse has 27 courtrooms, unique event space, art exhibits, exceptional views, and so much more!

ART EXHIBITS

The Moakley Courthouse hosts three unique locations for art exhibitions, offered on a three-month rotating basis.

The Art Exhibition Program is committed to using the exhibit space to display a variety of artistic and historic works, to visually enhance the public areas of the Courthouse and to generate public interest.
